NEW! Poem by Virginia Konchan

Virginia Konchan

X is for Xanax, xenophobes,
and x-rays that purport
to shine a cathode light
on the pathologies
of your spine. X:
positus, topoi, key—
secret location of the eye-
witness to the century’s
most gruesome crime.
Let those for whom
gender and speech
are propositional acts
sing of the headless,
stateless, nameless,
exiled in St. Tropez
until discovered by
satellite topography:
eyeball of fame,
tungsten blue on
the screen of our
illicit, private-cum-
public desires.
