NEW! Poem by Jack Christian

Jack Christian

You’re the Maestro I’m the Minstrel

I wanted to be a smorgasbord of erotic discourse,
a sentence running skew to all its logics,
my one job to button up and get magnanimous,
every yawn some kind of artisanal service.

We held a sitcom intervention whenever you showed up.
You small fort of unnamable generosity, never a full-stop.
You, the small god of a compartmentalized trouble factory.

I mean, who writes an ode to an onion?
